Women from across Canada call for economic justice. Equal Pay Day, April 4, 2020, marks the day women, on average, must work longer into the year to earn the same amount that men earned in the previous twelve months. But for women who face multiple forms of discrimination, they must work even longer into the year.

The current provincial government has taken many steps that erode protections against gender pay discrimination. No implementation of minimum wage increases. No sick days improvements. No Pay Transparency Act implementation. Cuts to violence against women services. Cuts to education. Government-led legal challenges to the Ontario Midwives. The list goes on and on.

APRIL 4: TAKE ACTION TO CLOSE THE GENDER PAY GAP.
Together, we can send a strong message that the government must close the gender pay gap.

Women with disabilities: 56% pay gap
Indigenous women: 43% gender pay gap
Racialized women: 38% gender pay gap
Immigrant women: 34% gender pay gap

On average, Ontario women face a 29.3% gender pay gap.

Join the Rally. Wear Red. Bring your banners and signs. Be ready to make some noise with pots and pans!

On Equal Pay Day, have your phones ready and be prepared to tweet out our demands for women’s economic justice!
