If you are still working in the office, your team leader or manager should be doing regular wellness checks. Things are evolving, so if you have decided you would feel safer to work at home, please make that clear to the employer.

You are entitled to regularly ask your manager if there have been any additional potential Covid risks in the building and it is the employer’s responsibility to keep their staff informed on h&s issues.

Under the Canada Labour Code part 2, we have 3 rights- right to know, participate and refuse.

Also note, if you are or going to be working from home and require equipment from the office to create a safe, adequate working space, tell your team leader /manager. You will need to sign a form.

Call for Alternate National Vice Presidents

Are you thinking of submitting your name as one of the Alternate NVP(s) for CEIU? Then this is the time to do it.
The Call for Nominations for Alternate NVP(s) has now been sent out to Local Executives, National and Regional Committees and Regional Councils in order to ensure its distribution to the members.

Completed nomination forms must be received by the CEIU National Office by no later than 6:00 p.m. on April 15th, 2020 for the nomination to be valid.

Please note that with the present situation with COVID-19, the CEIU National Office understands that with the Call for Alternate NVP, it might not be possible to get the form signed, therefore, we would accept an email directly from your nominator and an email for your seconder, in lieu of their signature. These can be sent to vote@ceiu-seic.ca
