Elections for regional committees and election chair at upcoming CEIU ONTARIO PRESIDENT’S CONFERENCE

Elections will be held at the upcoming Ontario Presidents’ Conference (Dec 16-18. 2020) for all established Regional Standing Committees of the CEIU Ontario Region as well as the position of Elections Chair (and Alternate). The standing committees are:  Collective Bargaining Committee Differently Abled Members Committee First Nations/Métis/Inuit Committee Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, 2-Spirited and Queer Committee Racially Visible Action Committee Regional Women’s Committee Front End/Outreach Committee Health, Safety, and Security Committee Candidates MUST specify which term of office they have interest in i.e. p 2-year term          p 1-year term        p Alternate        p All        The CEIU Ontario Region Elections Chair is for a 3-year term and the Alternate position is also for a 3-year term. Members interested in running for any of these positions must complete and return the attached Nomination Form via email to the RUO GD mailbox:  oninfo@ceiu-seic.ca  no later than December 14th, 2020. The December 14th deadline has been established to allow administrative processing time. Any nominations done after the deadline should be done during the event as nominations for positions will also be accepted on the Conference floor. **Please note** Should you not be able to print/scan the attached form due to work from home limitations, we will accept the following: The nominator may send an email to the RUO GD mailbox, providing the candidate details including the position(s) and term(s) of office the candidate is running for.   The seconder and the candidate should be cc’d on this email.  The seconder should then forward the email to the RUO GD mailbox:  oninfo@ceiu-seic.ca with their endorsement of the nomination as the seconder.  Again, the candidate should be cc’d on the email.   The candidate should reply to all, indicating that they accept the nomination and are standing for the position(s) and term(s) indicated by their nominator. All three of these conditions must be met for the nomination to be considered valid. A nominator and seconder are still required and if the nominee is not present at the Conference, please ensure that they email the Election Chair directly at orcvotecro@ceiu-seic.ca with the following information: Their name, local #, that they accept the nomination to the specified position(s) and terms. They will need to state the positions and terms (1 year, 2 year, as an alternate, or for all three) in their acceptance to avoid misunderstandings.  Should you have any questions concerning the above election process, please email us at oninfo@ceiu-seic.ca. CEIU ONTARIO REGIONAL COUNCIL (ORC) ELECTIONS- START TOMORROW

As a member in good standing of the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (CEIU), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) you will be receiving an email from SimplyVoting at the end of this week, with a link to cast your electronic vote for the ORC positions up for elections.    The elections will start at 9 a.m. (EST) on December 4th, 2020 and will close at 4 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, December 10th, 2020.
