If you are denied- Please ask for denial in writing with clear rationale. It’s also recommended the other paid leave request(s) be input in PeopleSoft and denied in PeopleSoft. If you have a verbal conversation about it, you can summarize and email it back to your mgr/ director/ to confirm.

You can grieve the denial if it’s unreasonable. In the meantime, if denied, you may have to put it in as another type of leave and we will try to get it back. We have standard wording to use and PSAC has also filed policy grievances.

Please contact your local union reps at localceiu581@gmail.com if you are waiting a long time for a response since Nov 9 new Treasury board guidance on this came out and/ or if you are denied, whether you decide to grieve or not.
