Let’s Make our Laws Fairer for Workers

Let’s Make our Laws Fairer for Workers
Right now the Ontario government is proposing changes to our labour laws with Bill 148; Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act. The labour legislation will increase the minimum wage, create wage fairness between contract workers and full-time employees and create new rules on when employers can change employees’ shift schedules, among many other changes.

Bill 148 has not yet been finalized and the business lobby has been pushing hard to weaken the Bill before the government adopts any amendments in the next few weeks.

You can help push back against the misinformation that is being put out and help strengthen Bill 148 to protect workers. Take a moment and use the

to send a personalized letter to the editor to your local media.

You can also email your MPP and the Premier by entering in your postal code here: http://www.makeitfair.ca/email.

Please take a few minutes to complete these online actions, and let’s continue to push our political leaders to do what’s right.

In Solidarity,

Sharon DeSousa,
PSAC Ontario Regional Executive Vice-President
